Lions give youth the chance to learn, grow and serve. Today’s children are our future. That’s why many Lions clubs choose to work on youth projects such as sponsoring a Leo club, a local Peace Poster Contest or a Youth Camp and Exchange – or providing services for children and youth in need.
The Magrath Lions Club is working to sponsor a Leo club in Magrath, with current projects that are designed to get youth involved in service here in our community.

Leo Club Organization (Oct-Dec 2012) sponsorship of Leo club
We have decided to proceed with the request to organize an Alpha Leo Club here in Magrath. Lion Club President Roger is getting the necessary forms and information. We already have a core of interested families and kids and have put them to work last summer in our Lions Garage Sale, and this fall in our Mural Project.
Leo Mural Project (Sep 2012) art / cultural event
A large blank brick wall on the south side of Roosters Country Marketplace has been made available to the Lions for a new mural. The owner has agreed to permit us to paint the wall and the town added it's support with only a few restrictions. We scraped off all loose paint and are had the undercoat spray painted in Oct 2012. A local painter volunteered his time, equipment and expertise for this phase. We purchased 12 gallons of paint for these first 2 coats. The wall is 100 foot long and just over 2000 sq ft in size. Potential Leo's and volunteer community artists will organize the actual mural later this year if weather permits. More to come ..
