Peace Poster Contest 2024
For 2023-2024 a new project for us is running the Lions International Peace Poster Contest in our local community at the Magrath School. We will run the contest in two parts:
Part A - The official international portion of the contest is just for students ages 11, 12, 13 as of midnight 15 Nov 2023. They have specific rules: for age of artist (as above), size and format of poster (min 13x20 up to max 20x24 inches), only one entry per person, no border or framing, flexible medium (rollable for shipping), no letters or numbers in the artwork, no extra '3D' items added or glued on, etc. Entries for this portion of the contest must be submitted by 6pm on Tue 7 Nov 2023 to any Magrath Lions Club member for judging. One entry will be selected as the best of these and will be forwarded on as our submission to the Lions Club International 2024 contest by Wed 15 Nov 2023.
Part B - *subject to revision as plans develop* In addition we hope to run our own local peace poster contest with all the entries from Part A above plus submissions from students of any age enrolled or affiliated (eg via online class) with the local Magrath School within grade groups a) grade 10-12 (high school), b) grade 7-9 (jr high), and c) grade 4-6 (elemetary). All submission regulations for Part A portion will be retained (except for age restriction) for the Part B contest. Entries for this portion of the contest must be submitted by 6pm on * Fri 15 Feb 2024 * to any Magrath Lions Club member for judging. Prizes will be awarded by the Magrath Lions Club within the grade groupings above and winning entries will be featured at the school and on this website early in 2024.

THE 2024 CONTEST THEME is "Dare to Dream" To a young person, a dream isn’t just a wish, hope or desire — it’s a path, a goal, an ambition. But achieving that dream takes hard work. So this year, we’re asking young people to show how they’ll turn their dream of a peaceful world into reality.
