Magrath, AB May 2022 - A big thank you to everyone for your support of our annual food drive. 1500 flyers were sent out the week ending 6 May. Despite some conflicts with other events, this year our volunteers collected 4400 lbs of food that was delivered to Lethbridge Food Bank by 1pm on Sat 7 May 2022! Some of you were missed in the pickup process and so we apologize. If you still wish to donate, we will be collecting donations at the Magrath Pharmacy one more week until Fri 13 May 2022. Magrath, AB The Magrath Community annual Food Drive will be held the week ending Sat 7 May 2022. The Magrath Lions Club in conjunction with local churches and volunteers will be holding our 17th Annual Community Food Drive during the week ending Sat 7 May 2022.   Great weather. 1500 flyers and bags. 250+ volunteers from local church groups in Magrath, Welling, Spring Coulee and area to drop off the flyers and collect the donations. Approaching 6000 lbs of food donated this year! 5 overflowing vehicles. Eight huge 'watermelon' boxes on pallets filled. All done by 1pm Sat 15 May 2021. Single largest private donation to Food Bank since Mar 2020. Yay. Thank you again all.  Apr 2021 Magrath - We are happy to announce a reboot of our traditional community food drive this year despite the Covid-19 Pandemic restrictions. Yay!
The links below are to current year flyers and handouts in PDF format:  Apr 2020 Magrath - We are unable to hold our traditional community food drive this year due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. Instead we urge any who can to donate cash directly to the organization or church of your choice to support those in need at this time. Traditionally we have sent your donations to the Lethbridge Food Bank and a portion to the local school lunch program. Hopefully we will be able to restart this project next Apr 2021.
We will firm up the dates and plans at our Jan 2019 meeting: but coming up this year ..
Many thanks to all the helpers on the 2018 (13th annual) community food drive! We ended up with mild sun burns and a total 4350 lbs of food delivered this year valued at $10,850! WOW
Did we miss you? Oops, we are so sorry! CATCH UP FOOD DRIVE WEEK We note that some were away or their pickup bag was missed on the Sat morning pickups. If that is you, we are continuing our collection this week .. just bring your donation bag to the Magrath Pharmacy where our White Collection Van will be parked all this week .. i.e. (until Sat 5 May 2018). We will take them into the Lethbridge Food Bank at the end of that week! Many thanks again!!! The Magrath Lions and our oh so many wonderful volunteers ..  Our 13th Annual Community Food Drive will be held the week ending Sat 28 Apr 2018 All is prepared for the upcoming Magrath and District Community Food Drive! Past results: Apr 2017: Total donations were 2.0 tons (4000 lbs). Apr 2016: Total donations were 2.58 tons (5154 lbs). Apr 2015: Total donation 5354 lbs. Apr 2014: Total donation 5500 lbs. Apr 2013: "Total donations came in over 6500 pounds valued over $13,000!" Lion Roger Apr 2012: "Total donation was 5551 lbs. "Thank you, thank you, thank you..." Magrath Lions and Executive Director Lethbridge Food Bank  Magrath Apr 2018: It is proposed that our 13th annual Magrath and District community food drive be held the week of Apr 23-28, 2018 with the flyers being distributed week starting Apr 23rd and the collection day being Sat 28 Apr, 2018.
