Possible storage in a C can on Arlen Bennett’s and just outside of town. We need to investigate if Casino funding can be used to purchase and pay for storage unit and for renting a spot on Arlen’s land. Roger will talk to Arlen about his land and will look into costs of a Sea-can.
Discussed a possible way to raise funds acting as caterers
Larry will talk to Jordan Brame about the Peace Poster contest
Lawrence said it is his understanding that the Casino money may be used for many things but not to raise more funds. - Alex talked about getting a sign for the Terry Trainer Park. We will get a bigger sign than the last one and will place it closer to the fish pond. The sign will be metal and will be cemented in the ground. Wording for the sign same as before. The sign needs to be fixed and not movable this time.
- Alex reported that this year is Magrath’s 125th celebration - do we want to do something for it? A pancake breakfast? We could either do our own or join another group, if they are doing one. Saturday, July 27th. The town is looking to pay “volunteers” to help out with things like the bounce houses. Advertising the last week of the month before any of our events. Should we be a part of the Volunteer Fair to show what the Lions do?
- Lawrence talked about using Casino money:
We could possibly buy, or pay to rent, land for a community garden. It would also pay for a building to store equipment in. - Larry to talk to the dental office about possibly renting. People could grown a small garden and then donate a percentage of the produce to local food banks (eg SASH Community Pantry).
Can be used for Emergency funds (sending people to medical appointments that are out of the community, to provide relief from distress, emergency measures, home or vehicle modifications).
Meeting Adjourned at 8:29 PM.
